Virtue RocksThis is an activity for nearly any age group, but especially good for the elementary and middle school age. Virtue Rocks are easy to make with relatively few materials and teaches the importance of developing and striving to acquire virtues. They can be used as gifts, paper weights, a scavengar hunt, or to beautify a garden or walkway.

1. Pick light colored rocks.
2. Write a virtue with sharpie on the rocks.
3. place a piece of painters tape over the virtue.
4. Allow children to paint, or finger paint, using temper or acrylic paints. Peal off the tape and let dry completely.
5. Once dry, spray a clear coat of shellack/clear gloss over each and let dry completely.
6. Display or place around the garden.

To accompany this activity, read the book The Good in Me, From A to Z by Dottie by Lisa Blecker.

For older children, decorate with paint pens or thin paint brushes before spraying with gloss.
